1,548 awarded works, including special awards such as the gold award and the finalists of the grand award, are announced.
The Japan Institute of Design Promotion (chairperson: Hiroshi Naito), the organizer of the GOOD DESIGN AWARD, announced the award winners for 2023 on October 5. The organization started accepting entries for the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2023 on April 4, and following the screening of 5,447 entries, a total of 1,548 awarded works have been determined.
This includes 100 works in the GOOD DESIGN BEST100, which are highly regarded as particularly excellent designs in various fields. From the BEST100, a total of 32 special awards are selected, including 20 GOOD DESIGN GOLD AWARDs including 5 finalists for the GOOD DESIGN GRAND AWARD, the highest award of the year. The GOOD DESIGN GRAND AWARD will be elected and announced on October 25.
In addition, 6 GOOD DESIGN LONG LIFE DESIGN AWARDs are also selected, which are given to designs that have been supported by people for many years.

The winner of the GOOD DESIGN GRAND AWARD will be determined through voting on October 25 by the judges in the committee, this year’s GOOD DESIGN AWARD winners and the visitors of GOOD DESIGN EXHIBITION 2023.

GOOD DESIGN EXHIBITION 2023 will be held as a place to introduce the "good designs of the year" selected through a rigorous and fair screening process and their significance to society at large. GOOD DESIGN EXHIBITION 2023 is one of the largest design events in Japan, where visitors can "understand current design by looking at this. Based on the theme of the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2023, "Design and its Outcome", the exhibition will showcase an overwhelming scale of outstanding products, services, projects, and other designs that have been thought through to determine what is truly needed in today's society.
In addition, a GOOD DESIGN STORE TOKYO by NOHARA pop-up store will open at the same time. Visitors can also buy the latest awarded products and popular awarded products.
There will also be an award exhibition of the LONG LIFE DESIGN AWARD, which is given to legends that have been loved by users for many years.
