Based on this year's theme of “Brave Attitude, Organic Design”, a judging committee made up of leading figures in the field of design from Japan and abroad conducted the rigorous and fair screening process, and from among the 5,773 entries, 1,579 awards were decided. And 32 special awards were selected from the BEST 100, including 20 GOOD DESIGN GOLD AWARDs, which are finalists for the GOOD DESIGN GRAND AWARD, the highest award of the year.
This year, the GOOD DESIGN GRAND AWARD will be elected from among the 20 GOOD DESIGN GOLD AWARD works by a vote of the jury members and award winners, which will be conducted online. In addition, a new title called “Our Favorite G Mark”* has been established, and the winners of this title will be announced at the award ceremony and the Grand Award Election, which are scheduled to be held on November 5.
In addition, 12 GOOD DESIGN LONG LIFE DESIGN AWARDs are also decided, which are given to designs that have been supported by people for many years.

GOOD DESIGN GRAND AWARD to be announced on November 5
The awards announced on October 16 include the GOOD DESIGN BEST100, a selection of 100 designs recognized for their outstanding qualities in uniqueness, concept, aesthetics, and overall execution, serving as models for future design. From these, a total of 32 special awards were decided, comprising 20 GOOD DESIGN GOLD AWARDs and 12 GOOD FOCUS AWARDs. The 20 Gold Awards are finalists for the GOOD DESIGN GRAND AWARD. Between October 16 and 23, a vote will be conducted by the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2024 jury members and award winners, which will represent this year’s most distinguished design achievement.
